"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

Welcome to the Sports Site of Rydens Enterprise School & 6th Form College

Sport at RES plays a key role in the school's mission to support and nurture individual pupils to believe, achieve and succeed their goals. We believe sport develops pupils' confidence and resilience through physical, technical and mental stimulus as well as exposure to teamwork and leadership opportunities.

AIMS AND PHILOSOPHY

As a department we are very inclusive and try to offer activities that will appeal to all our students, be it the traditional team games or more modern sports.  Our standards and expectations are very high and students are encouraged to take part in an excitingly wide range of activities that are delivered in curriculum time and in our Extra- Curricular schedule. As a department we are keen on developing competitive sports within the school and we are driven to become one of the most successful schools within the county in sport.

Within sport at RES we strive to achieve our goals by following 4 key principles;

2 - High Performers - foster and develop pupils aspiring to excellence in identified sports and physical activities

3 - Academic Integration - embrace sport and physical activities in to, not appended to, the fabric of RES School life
